Help for Millicent and Chantelle.
Chantelle was born with cerebral palsy and as so often happens, the father of the child would have nothing to do with her and abandoned them. Chantelle’s young mother could not cope either and left her child with her grandmother Millicent.
Millicent lives in a Nairobi slum house and was already caring for her own adult autistic son, but could not ignore the needs of this child who has such a wonderful smile.
Our Peter James Association has helped Millicent with some supplies including a large bag of potatoes which Millicent sells in small quantities to make a little money. A kind Rotarian also paid for some KEFOS (knee, ankle, foot orthopedic supports) which Chantelle desperately needed.
Through our partnership with the Rani Ramchandani foundation in Nakuru, we were also able to secure a specialist wheelchair for Chantelle so they can be more mobile and she doesn’t have to be carried everywhere.
What Millicent would really like is to be able to rent a decent room somewhere that they could be safe and a little money to start a small shop so that she could support them all. If you would like to help Millicent and Chantelle please donate quoting Chantelle and write us an email to receive a donation certificate.
DONATEHelp Beckett.
In Kisii county we have a mother with a son living with autism. We had the privilege to shop with them in Naivas Supermarket and experience first hand the challenges these parents are facing.
One of the boys is Beckett. He is nine years old, non verbal and still needing diapers. His mother Evelyne Mosiria is actively raising awareness about austim and Beckett participated in our first and second pageants where he emerged as first runner-up.
Beckett is hyperactive as is typical with autism and never leaves his mother’s grip as he occasionally gets irritated.we tried fitting her shoes and realized that it’s only grace that makes this lady keep a smile while trying to contain his son every minute. As always, the child had to have some snacks while still shopping. Grateful to Naivas Supermarket for understanding our kids and letting us pay later using the packaging paper.
At one point when he was left in a room,he came out smeared in his mom’s body oil from head to toe.
One prayer from mama Beckett is to get a quality school for autism for his son. She tells us no domestic help spends a week in her house as they tell her they can’t manage Beckett.
If we come together,we can help Beckett get a good school and get the help he so much needs. To help Beckett, you can donate and write his name on the payment, or send us an email or contact Mama Becket directly. To reach Mama Beckett, please contact her on 254726049396
