The crowning

Our 2021- 2022 winners were crowned at a ceremony held in Nairobi in February 2022.

The ceremony was well attended with almost 100 parents and children, Rotarians from the Czech republic, Prague International club as well as Peter James Association organisers and volunteers. There was a good media presence and TV interviews were broadcast. Founder and Chair Veronica addressing the attendees.

Trampolines and other therapeutic aids were amongst the prizes awarded in the ceremony.

Our little Miss Neurodiversity Africa 2021_2022, baby Ivanna and her Mom looking pretty.

Our neurodiverse children need to be included in all aspects of life. We are yet to see a neurodiverse child on a billboard as a brand ambassador in Kenya. We are still calling on different products to  make this happen.

Contestant Joy. Living with Down Syndrome

As our contestants share their experiences raising our neurodiverse children, we all have a chance to learn about others who also face difficult and sometimes very similar difficulties.

Contestant number two.

Meet Joy Nyawira

Joy has brought us so much joy since she was born. Little did we know that we would laugh a lot and that she would bring so much joy everyday. Even though she’s very non-verbal and can’t express all of her thoughts, my daughter understands so much. She has taught us a new language i.e. acronyms-

IFSP,IEP,PT,ST,OT,OHS,VSD, the list goes on. There’s so much about having a child with down  syndrome that ushers you into a new world. Now I have a new language to match. Joy has taught me to become a master  problem solver. We chose not to hide our children, because Neurodiversity is beautiful
